Australia’s corporate financial performance recorded a strong improvement in the latest KPMG FPI, but the rise in the number of zombie companies paint a more complicated picture.

Australia recorded a 16-point increase in KPMG's latest Financial Performance Index (FPI) for the third quarter of 2024, one of the strongest increases in the period, behind Canada. According to the FPI report, the point rise was buoyed by in part due to the raw materials sector and related industries.
