In the Queensland budget on 21 June, it was announced that a mental health levy will be applied to payroll tax liabilities from 1 January 2023. The question for employers with workers in Queensland is how to factor the new levy into their own budgets for FY23. The levy is estimated to provide annual revenue of $425 million by 2025–26.
