Labor’s 2025 tax agenda following Federal Election win

The Labor Party made some tax-related election commitments which we expect the Federal Government will start to implement in 2025, as outlined by Alia Lum and Amanda Maguire.

The Australian Labor Party has won the 2025 Federal Election, and the Anthony Albanese-led government will be returned for a second term. While counting is still underway, it is clear that the Labor Party will obtain a significantly increased majority in the House of Representatives. In the Senate, it is expected that Labor will need to rely on the support of either the Coalition or the Greens to pass legislation.
