Announced as a pre-budget measure, the Government will effectively ban foreign investors from purchasing established homes for at least two years from 1 April 2025. Foreign persons are still permitted to acquire new builds and off-the-plan dwellings, subject to Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) approval.
