KPMG is sad to share that Richard Buchanan passed away at the age of 78.

Richard Buchanan was one of the most prominent tax advisers in Australia throughout the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Richard established the Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co Melbourne Tax Practice as one of the leading tax practices in the country in the 1980s. He then took on the difficult challenge of leading the KPMG Peat Marwick Tax practice through the recession of the early 1990s, through which Richard demonstrated great empathy, resolve and resilience.
